An outspoken Victorian Liberal MP will be expelled for attending a neo-Nazi anti-transgender demonstration.
British anti-trans campaigner Kellie-Jay Keen-"Let Minshull's Women Speak" gathering outside Victorian parliament on Saturday featured Moira Deeming.
Neo-Nazis joined anti-trans protesters and frequently saluted, prompting violent fights as police kept counterprotesters at away.
Opposition leader John Pesutto met with Ms Deeming on Sunday afternoon to address her role in organizing, promoting,
and attending a protest with speakers and others publicly associated to far right-wing extremist organisations, including neo-Nazis.
Mr. Pesutto said he will file a vote to oust her from the Liberal Party at the next party room meeting, calling her position "untenable".
"This is not an issue about free speech but a member of the parliamentary party associating with people whose beliefs are abhorrent to my values,
the Liberal Party and the larger community," Mr. Pesutto said. "I joined and lead the Liberal Party to represent all Victorians."
