Ohio State had at least seven players drafted in six straight years from 2016-21, so the back-to-back six-player draft classes constitute a dip.
This year's six Buckeyes were enough to extend Ohio State's streak of at least five drafted players to 10 years. Alabama is the only other school with a 10-year streak of five or more draft picks.
For the second year in a row, Ohio State had six NFL draft picks, including one defensive player.
Five of Ohio State's six NFL draft picks in 2023 were offensive players, same like in 2022.
Three first-rounders—C.J. Stroud (Houston Texans), Paris Johnson Jr. (Arizona Cardinals), and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seattle Seahawks)—and
offensive linemen Dawand Jones and Luke Wypler (Cleveland Browns) were among those picks.
Zach Harrison, who went to the Atlanta Falcons in Round 3 (No. 75 overall), was Ohio State's only defensive draft pick, like last year's fifth-round pick Tyreke Smith.
