Keanu Reeves Speaks Just 380 Words in Nearly Three Hours of "John Wick 4" Conversation Due to Dialogue Cuts: He has pledged to keep quiet.

John Wick is a quiet person. Not at all. According to a Wall Street Journal story,

The eponymous assassin played by Keanu Reeves speaks barely 380 words in 103 lines of conversation during "John Wick: Chapter 4,"

which has a 169 minute duration. In the follow-up, almost a third of Reeves' lines are made up of just one word.

According to the Wall Street Journal, "Mr. Reeves said a total of 484 words in the first segment, which clocked in at 101 minutes.

The fourth film, which has a runtime of 169 minutes and approaches three hours, has only 380 words written by Wick.

In the movie's trailer, about 10% of them are shown, which gives the hero an almost conversational appearance

Wick talks more in that 2.5-minute segment than he does in the first 25 minutes of the actual film.

Dialogue-free John Wick. "John Wick: Chapter 4" director Chad Stahelski says Reeves "stripped out almost half the dialogue supplied for his character in the initial script".

In the moment where John Wick and the evil Marquis de Gramont (Bill Skarsgard) negotiate the terms of their duel, for example, Wick was given 50% of the conversation.
