Jayhawks lose NCAA tournament.

Kansas played Arkansas Saturday in the round of 32 of the NCAA tournament.

The 1-seed Jayhawks entered after beating 16-seed Howard. Arkansas, an 8-seed, defeated 9-seed Illinois. Kansas and Arkansas competed for the Sweet 16.

Did the Jayhawks defend their national title? Did the Razorbacks defeat the champions? Bill Self's health prevented him from coaching Kansas again, so Norm Roberts did.

Arkansas took control late, forcing Kansas to play from behind. Kansas couldn't win or force overtime. Jayhawks season over.


Kansas leads Arkansas 64-61 with 3:05 left in the 2nd half. It's back-and-forth. Kansas leads by three minutes.

Kevin McCullar Jr.'s dramatic 3-pointer put them ahead. Kansas' McCullar, Adams Jr., and Udeh Jr. each have four fouls.

Kansas needs McCullar and Adams to play. Arkansas may take over without them.

Arkansas leads Kansas 52-51 with 8:51 left in the 2nd half. Arkansas is 11-0. Kansas struggles. Razorbacks lead again.

Jayhawks will finish in the bonus. Kansas is doing well. They must seize such chances.
