Malibu police say veteran actor Dick Van Dyke received minor injuries in a car crash.
On Wednesday morning, March 15, police noticed a silver Lexus had hit a gate.
A Malibu Police Department spokeswoman told CNN that the 97-year-old actor, who starred in
"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Mary Poppins," had "minimal injuries."
The actor, who last month became the oldest contestant on Fox singing contest
"The Masked Singer," was alerted by the fire department, but no other details were released.
After winning a Tony for "Bye-Bye Birdie," Van Dyke landed "The Dick Van Dyke Show" on CBS from 1961 through 1966.
