Cowboys draft analysis: Deuce Vaughn's sixth-round selection.

Dallas used the 212th pick to take a family member of an employee in a position of need, which is rare in the NFL. The Cowboys drafted Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn,

son of assistant director of college scouting Chris Vaughn, to strengthen their backfield. This pick's "why" continues.

Vaughn has rushed for 3,000 yards in college, including 1,558 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022.

Since the Cowboys have committed to Tony Pollard as their lead back with Malik Davis and Rico Dowdle behind him, Vaughn should fit in well.

Deuce Vaughn and Pollard, Davis, and Dowdle share speed, explosiveness, and big-play ability outside the tackles.

Vaughn's tape outweighs his measurables, explaining why Dallas didn't draft him.

Vaughn, the NFL's shortest running back at 179 pounds, runs with speed and power despite his size.
