Many are wondering what all this Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx drama is about after he had an apparent meltdown on the set of their upcoming movie Back in Action, which brought her out of retirement.
Diaz left acting in 2014 and retired four years later. The Charlies Angels actor told Kevin Hart on Hart to Hart in 2021:
“When you do something at a really high level for a long length of time, when you're the one that's sort of delivering on this one thing, everything surrounding,
all parts of you that isn't that, has to sort of be handed off to other people,” Diaz added. Just my human management... Cameron Diaz is mechanical.

Foxx convinced Diaz to return to acting to star in his sixth Netflix action-comedy. They collaborated on 1999's Any Given Sunday and 2014's Annie remake,

On March 15, 2023, The Sun reported that Foxx and Diaz's film Back in Action—her first in nine years—had been postponed and four employees dismissed after Foxx had a "meltdown" on set.
