Despite the serious ankle injury he sustained in the divisional round of the playoffs, Patrick Mahomes' exploits in the postseason this past winter had no bounds.
The Chiefs would obviously love for their star quarterback to start the 2023 season fully healthy, and it appears that will be the case when he and Kansas City attempt to win another Super Bowl.
"He wasn't required to complete anything. He is doing well. Andy Reid, the coach, recently told NFL Network that he felt well.
"This time, he started working out again and mending his ankle right away. He didn't miss a beat while lifting and operating the pieces that he could operate.
The 27-year-old Mahomes seems to have avoided surgery and is on track to continue his stellar performance from the previous season.
Mahomes concluded the year 2022 with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdown passes, earning his second MVP award in both the regular season and the Super Bowl.
As the Chiefs' 2023 schedule hasn't been released, it's unclear who Mahomes and company will face to start their title defence.
