Aaron Rodgers’ “decision” is being eagerly awaited by the whole NFL community.
Rodgers is anticipated to make his decision between playing for the Green Bay Packers in 2023, retiring, or being moved to the New York Jets at any time.
The Rodgers to the Jets trade was reportedly “done” on Monday, according to a number of publications, but nobody would ever confirm the information. That’s almost definitely because Rodgers wants the announcement of his choice to happen how he wants it to.
On Monday, a different story said that some Jets players are already frustrated with the entire procedure.
Though it is obvious that the Jets want Aaron Rodgers to play for them, and numerous Jets players have actively pursued Rodgers, they may not enjoy being “held hostage” by the potential Hall of Famer.
On Monday afternoon, SNY’s Connor Hughes tweeted that he had spoken with some Jets players who claimed they didn’t agree with the way Rodgers had handled the situation.
That isn’t particularly unexpected. Yes, Rodgers is among the greatest NFL players ever. So when it comes to talks, he sort of gets to play by a different set of rules.
However, it seems as though Rodgers is deliberately prolonging the game for his own entertainment. That’s probably not the best way for a player to win over potential new teammates.
How this turns out should be known soon (maybe). All of the possibilities seem equally viable at this stage.
